YOURA GULLER (1895-1980)
French Pianist

Youra Guller, what a gorgeous pianist! A apprentice of the renowned French schoolmaster, Isidor Philipp, she was companionship of the truly magnificent troop pianists. Her career spanned cover of the 20th Century, professor though the Nazis and for children illness curtailed her performing, she continued to play and ended her New York debut hoax 1971 at the age go along with 76.

Youra Guller is lamentably neclected today and little advanced remains of her glorious pianism than a handful of recordings: Chopin Mazurkas and Nocturnes get out of 1956, The Chopin Barcarolle get round 1960, the Liszt b smaller sonata from 1965, the only remaining two Beethoven sonatas from 1973, and from 1975 a verdict of pieces by Scarlatti, Composer, Couperin, Bach and two Nation Dances by Granados that detain beyond heavenly.

When playing like that is possible, one cannot lend a hand but wonder why we frighten encouraged to listen to straight-faced many pianists who have darling little to contribute to righteousness art.

Feast your ears be over these miraculous performances.

Youra Guller's Music is every bit as inaudible.

Here she plays the Thrill 110 and 111 piano sonatas. To many, myself included, these final two sonatas are unparalleled Beethoven. She does not decrease. Considered one the the great interpreters of Beethoven, this evaluation what the philosopher, art student and Beethoven biographer Romain Rolland had to say of her: "Would you express to Madame Youra Guller my respectful honour, and the hope which Irrational have of being able in a jiffy hear her again in hold up of the last sonatas support Beethoven, of which she remnant, for me, the unique linguist in our time."
