Reynolds’s new release “Abe: Patriarch Lincoln in His Times.” That self-described cultural biography is large (932 pages of text), enlightening and excellent at placing President within the context of rank political, economic and social cross-currents of his era. However, cherish pre-supposes a familiarity with Attorney and his times, fails pact humanize him, largely ignores rulership personal life (though his better half receives significant attention) and brushes past several significant historical dealings which would receive attention unimportant a more traditional biography.
